Q: Why would the President want to support our state funeral proposal?
A: The President of the United States has the sole authority to designate a state funeral. General Douglas MacArthur, Supreme Allied Commander of the Pacific, and General Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander of Europe, were duly honored with state funerals. The men and women who serve under them are entitled to the same honor.
Today our nation stands divided in numerous ways and yearns for a unifying national event. A state funeral is a wonderful way to bring people together and show gratitude to the Greatest Generation. Such an event would honor not just one man, but the 16 million men and women who served our country and defeated Nazism, Fascism and Imperialism during World War II.
Q: How many signed petitions do you need to convince the President?
A: The White House indicates it will seriously consider citizen petitions for meaningful causes with at least 100,000 authentic signatures. Our state funeral team reasonably believes that with the help of patriots like yourself and your friends from all 50 states, we will be able to gather far more than those 100,000 signatures in just a few short months.
Q: Why does State Funeral need donations, and how is my donation used?
A: All current and incoming contributions are being used to bring the State Funeral mission to patriotic Americans, convincing them to sign our petition to the President. This goal includes the development and maintenance of our official website; communications to various patriotic organizations and individuals through social media; direct mail, phone calls, email and selectively placed advertisements; communications to targeted media through blogs and press releases; and the creation of support materials for out state leaders, board members and advisors. State Funeral is committed to maximize the use of every dollar donated to achieve our Mission goal. After our Mission goal is accomplished, any remaining dollars will be donated to Gold Star Legacy for Gold Star Families. The mission of Gold Star Legacy is to provide support, information, and services to Gold Star family members, to promote events, memorials, and foundations in memory of their loved ones, and to encourage the public to honor and remember our fallen heroes.
